What should I ask a wedding photographer?

Let’s just take the time to stop and say YAY!! You’re getting married!

I hope this blog helps to make the process a little less stressful!?

A few details you should have to hand when contacting a wedding Photographer?

Your wedding date is the most important bit of information but, the times you’d like to be photographed on your big day is also so important for example; Morning prep with your nearest and dearest, ceremony, reception, speeches, boogie on the dance floor, etc.

Your Ceremony and venue addresses. Exciting!! We want to hear all about it and want to visualise it with you.

Your approximate budget, it’s always good to have an idea.

What type of photography do you visualise for your wedding? informal? Traditional? Fun? Documentative?

Key questions to ask!

Have a little list to hand and don’t be shy, ask away!

What are your packages? Most wedding photographers offer a full day and half day package, some also offer a bespoke package to suit smaller, micro weddings or longer weddings which might be over two days.

Which areas of the UK do you cover in the price? What are the travel costs outside this area? We all have a radius we cover within the packages. We also may have a small travel cost added for weddings which are much further away.

What is your booking process? It’s important to understand exactly how it will all come together.

Do we meet in person? With the lockdown restrictions most of us have been meeting via video calls but, soon in person meetings will be able to go ahead once more!

What is the process from booking to delivery of our galley? We love to talk to our couples about how it will all work.

How do you deliver images? Some photographers will send over proofs via email, others will meet in person. I will send them straight over to your inbox via a beautiful online gallery to view and share with loved ones from the comfort of your home or whilst on the go, on your mobile phone.

Do you offer albums, prints? Most photographers work closely with trusted professional printers to provide high quality prints and albums for you and your loved ones.

Do your packages include a pre-wedding photo session? Some do and some charge extra for this service. I see it as a great way to meet and get to know my couples before their big day so, YES! A pre-wedding mini shoot is within my half day and full day packages!
