Let's talk about Intimate Weddings

Wedding Photographer

This last year, has been a year full of small and rather intimate weddings. For some it’s been a choice, for others it has been the only option because, they really want to tie the knot and are quite frankly fed up waiting! Either way weddings have continued in all shapes and sizes when they have been allowed to do so.

Have you planned or attended an intimate wedding? What was your experience like? Below I will talk about a few of the pro’s and con’s of intimate weddings.

What are the benefits of intimate weddings?

Having only the very important people there, has been bliss for some people and actually something that some couples have secretely always wanted, but never had the courage to put into action. Feeling guilty for not inviting your two aunties, six cousins, their partners and their ten children has sometimes been difficult for some couples! Well that all changed this year and those same couples got their wish, an intimate wedding in every way possible and so can you!

I salut you small wedding lovers!!

Other points to consider are that it can also helps to keep the cost down if you have a small budget, or maybe you’d like to splash out on those extras you might not have added if you had more people to feed and entertain or maybe, just maybe you want to save up for a lush honeymoon when it’s possible to travel to faraway lands. Whatever your reasons, make sure you do it your way!

What have been the disadvantages of intimate weddings in the last year?

For those of you who love a big wedding with all you loved ones surrounding you, this year has been a tough one and maybe a little disapointing. Having to change dates serveral time has been upseting and understandably so, because you have a vision of a big day and that’s just how you want it to be. Big weddings haven’t taken place in such a long time but, we are hopefull that with the easing of lockdown by the end of June, hopefully these will start to take place once more, from July onwards. I can’t wait to get out there and capture big, bright and beautiful weddings again.
